1-8-2010 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well grooming has started, it has been a slow riding season so far :(.   I do believe that the SP trail to Electric Mountain Lodge was groomed this week.  Marion is also being groomed by a larger groomer-owned by Eric Rudd, along with the Skandic pull behind groomer.  Thank you to all the volunteers that are doing this!!!   The sno-cat has had some repairs done to it and is running well.   Please make sure you do your snow dance, respect others using the trail heads and be safe and know the current avalanche conditions!!!

12-11-2009

Welcome back sledders!!!  Marion trail head is open as of 12-8-2009, we have about a foot of snow on the ground at the parking lot.  We will be track packing the SP trail next week sometime.  If you go out and ride, please be SAFE, there is not a lot of snow on the ground yet, which can make for a dangerous land mine under the snow.  Educate yourselves for unstable snow conditions (avy's) and survival out on the snow.  We all at some point that it could never happen to us....it can happen to any of us!!!  Stay tuned, we have a few rides coming up this year!!!  If anyone wants to hook up and ride please feel free to contact any of the board members.  We want to get more people interested in the sport, so we will do what we can to make that happen.  As you all may know about the Hidden Gems Proposal, we are still fighting for our riding areas.  Please support White River Forest Alliance , they are doing a wonderful job!!!!

End of the year :(

Well Marion has been closed for the season, and grooming is done.  Sean and I are going out tonight to pick up some of the poles off the SP trail.   Thank you all for a great riding season, until next season!!

1-28-09

Marion has been getting groomed at least once a week with the skandic and drag.  We have 3 guys that have volunteered there time to do it.  I can not thank them enough for there work and dedication to help make the trail smooth for everyone.  We went out yesterday from Marion and found some fabulous snow!!  Here are a couple of pictures to make you drool!!  The rest of the grooming has been going on, with the new snow it should make for some great trails.  Please be careful as the conditions have been odd this year, and always be prepared.  This last weekend 3 sledders became missing and spent 2 nights and almost 3 days out in the forest.  Make sure you let people know where you are going and always be ready and have supplies in case you have to stay out overnight!!!  The weather conditions can change in a heartbeat, and snowmobiles sometimes are not always reliable.  Watch your mileage and fuel consumptions.  Ride on!!!

12-28-08  The snow is good up on 4-mile/Marion area.  The groomer has been grooming the main trail system.  Please check out the CSA site for  grooming reports.  We have not been able to get a groomer to Marion yet, we are still working on it.  It will be groomed this year with the Ski-doo Skandic like in the past.  We unfortunately do not have Tod Welch grooming Marion this year.  He did a great job for us.   Please remember where ever you ride the AVY danger is HIGH!!!

12-14-2008-Marion Parking Lot is open.

We opened the parking lot today, please remember that we lease the parking lot from the Cattleman's Association, to provide you access to the trail head.  With the start of a new season please make sure you have renewed/paid your dues to the club.  We don't have maps up yet as the club has replaced the trail head sign.  There were and still are trees over the trail.  We are hoping to get them cleaned up this week.  Grooming on Marion will start when we get a bit more snow there are still rocks showing through.  Creeks are open and no base yet.  Please remember to stay on the trail until you hit the forest service as it is private land and we need to respect that.  It was very cold today and we had over 2' of fresh snow.  We were the first ones over the pipeline today and it was work for the 800 XP 154.  When we came back over the pipeline it was packed pretty good 1 track wide is all.  The creeks are still open and very dangerous, remember to check your AVY danger before you go out anywhere with this fresh snow!!!  Ride hard and SAFE!!!!
