Grooming Update  Stephen (a) Jim and Stephen did repairs on the cat. The rear sprockets still needs to be replaced and a few other small items. Items will be picked up and repairs will be completed on cat. (b) High winds blew trees down on the trail. Matt from Sunlight said they would remove any that was on the touring trails. (c) Jim has the satellite phone. He will make sure it is charged V11. Club Manager  Marilyn (a) Electric Mountain lodge has asked for an ad on both sides of the map. We will give them a smaller ad on the back of the map in addition to their larger one on the front. They did pay for this extra service. (b) There are 3 Lodges that are under new ownership. Marilyn sends out maps each year. We will include inserts with ads promoting the lodges. (c) Marilyn will send share names of members that need to renew with other board members so that we can help call them to remind them to renew. (d) Sean will help Marilyn with the CSA website. VII. Open Business (a) Carol put information about our club on Face book (b) Eric Rudd told Sean he would like to see Mt Sopris Recreational Riders Club decals on the windshield and door of the cat. Marilyn will check into this. (c) Saturday s dance at Buffalo Valley was a huge success. The club made $1600. This was after paying $560 to Buffalo Valley and $70 to each server for a tip. Seven new members also signed up that evening along with three renewals. (b) Steve and Marilyn and Travis Clark repaired the sign at the Marion Parking lot. Steve will add Plexi glass and a new map and current information. (c) Members can now use Pay Pal to renew their memberships on the website if they wish to do so. Call to Order  Sean The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM. II. Introductions  Sean Each attendee introduced themselves. III. Treasurer s Report - John (a) Checking: $20,000; Money Market: $0.00 (b) Money Market account was used last year for operating expenses. (c) John found out that we have a $2,000 overdraft protection that needs to be paid off. He will transfer from the checking account to do that. (d) Paperwork was signed to be submitted to bank so that John could start paying bills. (e) John will have more detailed report next meeting after meeting with Marilyn regarding spreadsheet use. (f) The club would like to see about having a 501C3 status. That way when people donate money, it could be tax deductible for them. Presently we are a non-profit organization so it is a non-taxable donation. Russell said he could check into this for us. There will possibly be a $750 filing fee. Stephen made a motion for Russell to move forward with this. Neil seconded the motion. IV. Next Meeting Schedule December 8th. It was not decided if we should meet at a residence or Buffalo Valley for a meeting/Christmas party. V. Duties of officers (a) Officers will meet to discuss duties and come up with job descriptions. (b) We have two at large positions. The position would require some knowledge of riding, history of our riding area d) Anyone can join other snowmobile clubs to show your support. (e) It may be time to give our Mt Sopris Recreational Riders Logo a facelift. If anyone has any ideas, please let us know. CSA is also going to change theirs. VIII. CSA Update  Peter (a) Peter will bring Bob Browlee to the next meeting to introduce him as his replacement. (b) The website is up and running good. (c) Our CSA membership will expire on December one. (d) Next CSA meeting will be in Waldon in February IX. Sunlight Report Matt is replacing AJ from Sunlight. AJ will still be there but is becoming a new father and is passing some duties on to Matt. They will have a phone at Sunlight and will help Jim out whenever he needs it. There is some logging going on. Their desire is to run till the end of February but Matt does not think they are going to do this. They will, however, be using the Sunlight parking area to load their Semis until Christmas. So the road will be graded so that the trucks can make it up the road. Original agreement with Forest Service was not to log during the winter months because of safety reasons. Redstone Corp is pushing to have the trucks run longer. X. Hidden Gems Update Started out rough but is going well. Eagle County may do another meeting. Still working with Garfield County Wilderness Gems does not really want to do one with Garfield as they say not enough proposed wilderness in Garfield. Last KDNK debate went well. X1.
